Faithful Elf Publishing: Online Privacy Policy

ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY

The Company, including its partners and affiliates, is dedicated to protecting the privacy of its Web site visitors. In order to demonstrate this commitment, the Company follows certain procedures designed to safeguard the information you entrust to it. These procedures are set forth in the following paragraphs.

The Company is the sole owner of the information collected on the Site.  The Company collects, through the Site, personally identifiable information from our Users, of a non-financial nature.  The Company does not materially alter the information provided by its Web site visitors, nor does it supplement the personal information from its own or third party sources, other than to collect enough shipment information to ensure a satisfactory customer service experience.

The User’s personally identifiable financial information is collected through a third party Merchant Services provider, Authorize.NET.  We have made reasonable efforts to understand that this third party Merchant Services provider is fully compliant with all data security regulations and procedures pertinent to the collection of your financial and non-public personally identifiable information.

While the Company has made a reasonable effort to ensure a secure online book purchasing process for the User, the User acknowledges and recognizes that no online system can be guaranteed to be one hundred percent secure.  The User further acknowledges that they will take all precautions necessary to protect their personal computer and its operating environment from unsecure and illegitimate activity.

Orders:
If you place an order on the Site, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, address, phone, email, and shipping address) and, depending on the payment method you choose, you may be asked to provide financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date) through our third party credit card processor (see “Agents” below).  Your name and shipping information will be shared with our third party sales fulfillment company (see “Agents” below).

We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. We will also use this information to notify you when your order has been shipped and to contact you if we have trouble processing your order.  We use this information to contact you about the services on our site in which you have expressed interest and, from time to time, to alert you to book related activities and information.

Email to a friend:
If you, the User, choose to share information about this site with a friend, be it through eMail, a website or webpage, or any other medium, you acknowledge that you are not doing so to obtain any compensation from the Company.  In addition, you pledge to comply with all FTC guidelines pertinent to SPAM.

Agents:
We, the Company, use a third party credit card processing company to bill you for orders placed on the Site.

The Company additionally uses a third party company, Bang Fulfillment in Brainard, MN, to fulfill your book orders.

The third party credit card company and the book fulfillment company are collectively referred to as “Agents.”  The Company does not retain, share, store or use your personally identifiable information with its Agents for any other purpose than to fill your order.

Service Providers:
As a marketplace site, we rely of the services of our Agents (see “Agents” above) to process and ship your order. To make it possible for our Agents to process and ship your order, we use your personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, phone number and email address, and your non-public financial information such as your credit card number. Your financial information is never taken or seen by the Company and is securely accepted by our third party credit card processor using, at a minimum, SSL encryption methods.

Our Agents are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information and financial information for any other purpose.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on the Site or the Company.

If you use a bulletin board, blog, or post book reviews or comments on the Site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.

We do not sell, rent or share your Personally Identifiable Information with Third Parties unless we have your prior consent to do so.

Choice/Opt-out:
When you order your book(s) from the Company, you are asked if you would like to receive information from the Company on future book signing’s and any newsworthy events pertinent to the Company and its books.  We provide you the opportunity to opt-out of having your email address used for this purpose when we ask for this information.

If you no longer wish to receive our eMail information (other than that used to process your order), you may opt-out of receiving it by following the instructions included in each newsletter or you may contact us at support@afaithfulelf.com, or Faithful Elf Publishing,  P.O. Box 1996, Attleboro, MA 02703 to opt-out.
